The Moon

This project was made for my hand embroidery class in which we studied and performed diverse technical embroidery skills. In this sampler piece I created, I delved into research on tarot cards, their meanings, and the connection between us and the universe. I chose ‘the moon’ as my point of focus for this tapestry because as a pisces, the moon is in direct correlation with the planet Neptune, which is the pisces’ ruling planet. Its meaning of deception, confusion, fear, and calumny is genuine to the tarot card whether upright or reversed. During this period of time, I was in a state of confusion with my personal life. Spirituality is curiosity that I like to explore, especially in my work. I’ve always felt a deep sensation basking in the moonlight since I was a child.
